Beat writer Bennett Durando opens up the Nuggets Mailbag periodically during the season. Pose a Nuggets- or NBA- related question here. What would be more beneficial: Continued investment in our promising young core (Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, Zeke Nnaji, etc.) or trading for another scorer like Zach LaVine? The young core could be good for the future but would someone like Zach help guarantee a trophy this year?Tyler, DenverLet’s ignore the impossibility of adding LaVine’s max contract from a salary cap standpoint and entertain this idea sheerly from a basketball perspective. I hesitate to say LaVine or anyone of his pedigree would be downright bad for the Nuggets — he’s obviously a gifted offensive player, and I think he could thrive in a new environment — but a flashy trade like that would be 1) a risk, and 2) antithetical to everything the Nuggets have done to ascend to their current position. It’s becoming increasingly evident that you don’...Opinion: Ban TikTok now before antisemitism peddled by Xi’s China gets worse

Social media is playing a dangerous role in the malevolent spread of Jew-hatred, propaganda, and disinformation about the Israel-Hamas war.One platform in particular — TikTok — poses an existential threat to political discourse in the United States. We should follow the lead of other nations in banning TikTok or requiring ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, to sell off its interests in the platform.China, along with Iran and Russia, all back Hamas and have played a key role in an influence campaign aimed at undercutting Israel and the United States through a deluge of overt and covert disinformation campaigns according to the Institute for Strategic Dialogue. Connecting the dots, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has asserted that, “TikTok is attempting to shape the opinions of its users against Israel because leveraging the Palestinian cause to weaken Israel is in the interest of Communist China.”TikTok’s undue influence, particularly on young Americans, cann...VA’s bad business practices: Veterans keep getting lost in the shuffle

VA business practices need thorough reviewRe: “Eastern Colorado Health Care System: VA told veterans’ needs neglected,” Nov. 12 news storyThe situation described in the article seems to be a situation that goes through a cycle: a decline in the quality of services followed by an overhaul of the system, then a rise in the quality of services. A few years later, the cycle repeats. Why?Is there something in the business practices and policies that influences this pattern? If such conditions are left as they are, the cycle will repeat. What would make leaders resort to the alleged behaviors described? There is the stated mission, but there must also be other motivations that would drive people to behave otherwise, like power, salary, incentive, and bonus structures, to name a few.Are there decisions that can be made that are argued to be for the company’s benefit that are really more of a benefit to the employee at the expense of the company and the people it serves? Through the Armenian Shipping Company, 600 containers with a total weight of 6 tons are transported to Russia weekly via Georgian ports, writes Nicholas Chkhaidze. This sophisticated Russo-Armenian scheme involves a variety of goods, such as clothing, cars, and spare parts, as well as medical equipment produced by Western companies.
